The fifth event in the 2026 LuxSUL Luxembourg Summer Urban League series

Meet at

In Parc Tony Neumann, at the play area near the east entrance just off Avenue de la Faiëncerie. Look for the LuxO beach flag.

Parking – a few places just at the entrance to the park, but otherwise not easy – you may have to walk some distance from a side street.

Public transport – from the tram route. City Bus 8 at 17.49, 18.09, 18.29, or 18.49 from the “Hamelius quai 1” stop, or 4 minutes later from Faiëncerie. Or City Bus 30 from Faiëncerie, at 17.44, 18.04, 18.24, or 18.44. Get off at the Uni Campus Limpertsbrg stop, walk back to Avenue de la Faiëncerie, turn right, cross the road, and turn left after 100 metres into the road leading to the park entrance.  City Bus 19 comes from the “Theatre Quai 1” stop at 18.09 or 18.39 via a roundabout route to the “Jean Soupert” stop on Avenue de la Faiëncerie. Walk back about 100 metres and turn right into the road leading to the park entrance. 

Facilities

Basically, none. The event will be outdoors, based on a park bench. It will be safe to leave bags and bikes at the meeting point. Toilets 200 metres away on the west side of the park.

Start times

18.15 until 19.15 (at the latest). Controls will be removed starting at 20:15, please be back by then, as the Park shuts soon afterwards! Please come early if you want to take a leisurely time doing your course.

Entries

No fee – but please sign up via the Calendar on the Club website, saying which course you would like to do, so we can print the right number of maps. Or let orienteer@orienteering.lu know at least a day in advance if you plan to come, and are not a LuxO member. 

Start point

Start and finish are both within 100 metres of the meeting point.

Format

Two courses

    Rabbit   3.1 km – medium, minimal climb

    Deer      5.3 km – longer, some noticeable climb

Straight line distances given – optimum routes are +/- 50% longer.

Controls must be visited in the order set. Flags are 15cm kites.  

Timing

Timing at each control using SPORTident (SIAC enabled). Bring your own SI timing chip if you have one, but if not, you can easily borrow a LuxO one. Results of all participants to the nearest second will be published.

Map

1:4,000, ISSprOM, 5 metre contours, survey by Cedric Guthier November 2024. Laser-printed, on A3 Pretex semi-waterproof paper.

Terrain

Mostly flat residential urban streets, some small paths, and a few controls in the park. Street running or training shoes optimal.

Safety

Everyone takes part entirely at their own risk. Please take great care, especially on or crossing the more main roads – you do not have priority! High visibility clothing strongly recommended.
