Tell the organizer that you're coming

Log in to tell whether you go, or not.

Events organized by the club: To ease communication with the organizers of an event organised by LuxOC, register using the "going there" button on the event page. Drop a note to let others know some details. See who's going and their notes by clicking "review details".

Events organized by other clubs: Unless specified otherwise, the club does not register for events organized by others. The "going there" button serves to tell others that you're coming, for instance to ease car-sharing.

Toilet and a place to change available. Bags and bikes can be left safely.

Start times

18.30 until 19.15 (at the latest). Please be back at the finish by 20.00.

Entries

No fee – but please sign up on the Club website, and say which course you would like to do. Or let orienteer@orienteering.lu know at least a day in advance if you plan to come, and are not a LuxOC Club member (why not join?!).

Start point

Start and finish right outside the meeting point.

Format

Three courses designed by Julien:
Squirrel 2.1 km, very easy, suitable for bigger kisd (or small ones accompanied), entirely in the residential area of Kirchberg
Rabbit 3.3 km, residential area and Coque park, minimal climb
Deer 5.7 km, residential area and Coque park, with hills
Straight line distances given – optimum routes are about 50% longer. Flags are 15cm kites. Be careful when crossing the streets.

Timing

SportIdent (SIAC enabled). Bring your SI timing chip if you have one, but if not, you can borrow one of the Club’s.

Map

1:7,500, ISSOM-ish, 5 metre contours, by Julien Gaffuri, 2019 with recent updates. “Zoom” enlargement of a complex maze section. Statues and childrens’ play equipment in the park area are generally NOT mapped. Laser printed on Pretex waterproof paper.

Terrain

Mostly urban streets and paths, one part in the d’Coque park, plus a tiny bit of forest for the Deer course.

Safety

Please take care to avoid all moving cars, bikes and buses, especially on the more main roads. You take part entirely at your own risk.

Our Extraodinary General Meeting will be held after the race (see the email sent on 16th May), starting at 20.15, with a “floor picnic” in the empty flat (we’re moving out). We'll have four chairs and a picnic blanket, so please bring something to sit on (e.g. a foldable chair, cushion etc.). Food and drinks will be provided.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
