More Family and Friends!

 October 23rd        LuxOC organisation

It was good to see so many members and friends at Parc Gasperich last Sunday. Sorry the fog didn’t lift until later, but at least it was dry! We hope you enjoyed our very low-key autumnal morning in the park.

On the morning, the timing system wasn’t behaving itself too well, and was very unfairly refusing to believe that everyone had visited all the controls! But once back in the warmth of a living room, the timekeeper managed to de-bug everything. The results are now posted in the usual way, on the Helga “Webres” website – follow the link to  https://helga-o.com/webres/index.php?lauf=5609 Do note that in the end, to keep life easy, the timekeeper decided to assume that everyone had visited all their controls!

Big thanks to Club President Jan, who did all the planning, and putting out of the controls, for the Parc Gasperich morning. It was the second weekend running that he’d put in a good shift in organising things – he had also played a big part in making sure our O2Lux event up at Diekirch the previous Sunday happened, despite the floods causing major last minute re-planning. Jan, you now deserve a rest!

The plan for the next few months is for the Club to be sure to have at least one “happening” a month that is good for our members who don’t travel far from Luxembourg City. There should now be a low-key “Family and Friends” morning or afternoon in every month when the Club is not organising a larger event. We’ve already had some volunteers to help put these on who haven’t done any previous planning or organising – much support will of course be given by more experienced hands.

Our next LuxOC events are planned to be

  • A small “Family and Friends” happening on the morning of Sunday 24 November at the Klosegroendchen park near the Kirchberg hospital.
  • A larger event, the last in the 2024 O2Lux series, on the morning of Sunday 15 December, in the streets of Limpertsberg and Parc Tony Neuman. All the O2Lux events, either here in Luxembourg or in the Belgian province of Luxembourg, always have a short, easy course  aimed at children and newcomers.

Keep an eye on the Calendar section of the Club website nearer the time for more details.
