Our 2024 Club Championships

Our 2024 Club Championships will be part of the last event that Luxembourg OC is organising in 2024. It's at Limpertsberg, on the morning of Sunday 15 December. Full details of times, meeting point etc. for the event are shown under the “next events” heading on this website.

As has become usual over the last eight years, our LuxOC Club Champions will be decided using a handicap system. Using standardised data (not from Luxembourg), ratios compare the expected speed of top competitors in your class with those of H21s and D21s. Your race time will then be adjusted accordingly. So, for example, if the data table says that your class runs at 60% of the speed of the H21s, for the handicap your running time will be adjusted to 60% of its actual time. The fastest adjusted times will then be our champions. Simple, really!

There will be five champions

• Open – H16- and older
• Women – D16- and older
• Young Open – H14- and younger
• Girls – D14- and younger
• Overall Club Champion

If you are H/D16- or older, please sign up for Course 2. Younger members should sign up for Course 3. If anyone really wants to run Course 1, the handicap system can adjust for the extra distance, so you can still be counted as taking part in the Championships. But the system won’t compensate for you getting more tired by running further!

If you want to take part, please try and sign up (ideally by using the O’Punch system, but otherwise by sending an email to orienteer@orienteering.lu saying which age group you belong in) before the official deadline of midnight on Thursday 12 December. This will allow the organiser time to get you set up in the handicap calculations. But there will still be some spare maps ready for entries on the day, and you will still be eligible for the Championships.
