Succ-Esch-ful O2Lux debut for Luxembourg Orienteering

 June 10th

The ruins of the medieval Esch-sur-Sûre castle provided a magnificent backdrop to the first of three races organized by our club this year as part of the 02Lux series. Some 90 runners from Luxembourg, Belgium, France and Germany battled steep hills and tiny alleyways of this small town in the north of the country on Sunday afternoon, with a succession of controls on the castle plateau providing an exotic twist to what is otherwise a mostly forest-based series. The Long Technical course took runners through the town and onto a steep path in the nearby forest, while the Short Technical and Begginers' courses covered mostly urban areas. Once again, LuxOC proved to be a reliable organizer, collecting kudos from competitors and even getting the town mayor intrigued by our sport! O2LUX #11 (helga-o.com) * O2LUX – L'Orientation aux 2 Luxembourg
